This ancient church holiday (also known as Candlemas because of the many candles representing the Light of the World!) is a fitting reminder to us of the themes of the Epiphany season, and provides a through-line from Christmastide to Lent. Along with Simeon, we see in the Christ-child “A light for revelation to the Gentiles” and along with Mary, we anticipate Jesus’ coming Passion and sacrifice at Calvary.
Come ponder these topics and engage with us in worship through prayer, song, communion, and contemplation - including a sermon from an early church father. This service takes place in the sanctuary at 7:00 p.m. (Please note that, while children are very welcome, there is no childcare during this service.) We look forward to seeing you there!
