Sunday, May 19 / The Celebration Hall / 9:30-10:30am
Hosted by Randy Lemke
In an era of increasing division, it seems everyone in our culture - but most notably and perhaps surprisingly Christians - are becoming defined by who they hate and who hates them. It's as though each group in our culture lives in their own unique world disconnected from the others. If we can't see into the worlds around us, perhaps we can "hear" into it. This session will be an exploration of seeing and hearing and relating to one another in our Christian community through the deliberate practice of seeking out perspectives that are different from our own as they are expressed through the craft of songwriting. Part music lesson, part listening exercise, and part spiritual and psychological reflection - the intention is to call our community toward a deeper practice of engaging with lives that are different from our own without losing our own Gospel-centered identity. All this, while enjoying and learning about some of the most moving songs ever written. Come join us!
