Welcome

Welcome to the Live Liturgy! We’ve worked hard to make your worship experience engaging with God, engaging with each other, and engaged with your whole self, right where you are. You are not a spectator at a distance; you are a participant in a collaborative moment. We are here. Together. And I’m so glad to be with you. Welcome to worship. Welcome to church. Welcome, this morning, to Advent Anglican.

What to Have on Hand

1. A Bible.

2. Bread and wine as a symbol of remembrance.

3. A notecard to write a brief note to someone.

4. A bulletin. Liturgical worship is something we all do together, collaboratively and in real time.

How to Prepare Your Space and Yourself

1. Prepare your room: Shut the door. Turn off ringers. Dim lights. Add a candle.

2. Prepare yourself: Upgrade from pajamas to an outfit that tells yourself, “This is important.” Finish tasks (like making breakfast or coffee, etc.) rather than carrying them into “the sanctuary” with you.

Engage a friend

• Connect with someone who is planning to do the Live Liturgy as well. Send a group text asking if they are “at church” with you.

• You can send a friend request on Facebook to people you haven’t connected with yet and message fellow attendees.

• INVITE A FRIEND who you think might be curious about church... or curious to see how your church is flexing with the times. Now, before worship begins, is a great time send them an invitation.

Live Liturgy

The Live Liturgy will run a little over an hour. It is a live event, starting promptly at 10:00 a.m. Click to set a Reminder through Facebook now and join the event at 10:00 a.m.

Viewing on Facebook allows for plenty of community interaction—before, after, and even during the event. But you can also view the embedded video above from Facebook, and you’ll be able to participate fully.

The Creed: We Believe in Order to Understand

Please return to Facebook at 11:20 this morning as Drew Armstrong presents the first of three sessions on the Nicene Creed. Drew will delve into the wonder of the faith once for all handed down to the saints. Drew and our Pastor of Arts and Education, Dcn. Jeremiah, will be on Facebook to converse and field questions during and after the presentation. If you prefer to watch off Facebook, visit the Adult Education Seminars to view the seminar on our website.

Intercessory Prayer with Clergy

If you’d like Fr. Aaron to pray with you on Tuesdays and Thursdays in April, please sign up for a 15-minute one-on-one prayer session via Calendly by clicking the Calendly link. If you sign up, please include your cell number in the “notes” and he will call you at the appointed time.

Children’s Message from Pastor Wendy

Pastor of Families and Children, Wendy Hunt, has prepared a children’s message based on the Easter 3 reading from Luke 24:13-35. You can view the video and participate in any of the following activities she’s prepared:

• Nursery (ages 0-3)

• Following Jesus (ages 4-7)

• Telling God’s Story (ages 8-12)
